Description: The Mt Toby Trail Run is a true trail race classic in Western Massachusetts. The course is a 14 mile Toby out and back course over fire roads, hiking, and jeep trails. Runners climb 1900 feet to the summit of 1,269 ft Mount Toby. Once at the summit, runners tag the base of the fire tower and begin the 7 mile descent to to the finish line. The course features total climbing of 2300+ feet. The Toby trails are easy to navigate and the trail conditions are manageable, making Mt Toby Trail Run a great trail race for beginners and seasoned trail runners alike.
There will be two water stops. One on at Reservation Rd. (mile 4.5) and the other at the the Mt. Toby Summit (mile 7). You will pass the Reservation Rd. water stop again (mile 9) on the return trip. Some runners like to wear a hydration vest, but ample water will be provided.

Directions: From exit 24 on I-91, go north on Rts. 5&10 for a couple of hundred yards, then right at the light on Rt. 116 towards Sunderland and Amherst, crossing the Connecticut River. It is 2 miles to Sunderland. At the light in Sunderland, turn left (north) on Rt. 47. Follow this ½ mile, then turn right onto Silver Lane. Follow this 2/10-mile, then turn left onto Park Road. Follow this a short distance to the Town Park. Restrooms will be available at the town park.
