Description: Gather, sort, collect, tabulate, organize running data/information on Series' runners throughout the season; also be prepared to present data summaries on the group and individual runners at the season ending Recognition Ceremony. The exact variables to be tracked are TBD. Required: A person who has an interest in runners, a love of numbers/ stats, and is organized in record keeping/tracking; very basic computer skills. Compensation: None; however, assuming SMAC receives a set of Boston Marathon applications for non-qualifiers for the 2014 marathon (as we do every year), our volunteer statistician will automatically be offered one (thereby bypassing the usual lottery).* *Disclaimer: recipients of non-qualifier applications are responsible for actually paying the invitational entry fee, as set by the BAA. Be aware that this entry fee is higher than the standard entry fee for qualifiers.
